All of our puppies are purebred miniature or toy Schnauzers. They are registered with the AKC and come with at least a 3 or 4 generation pedigree. They receive top quality care and get lots of love and attention while they are here. They are born and raised in the main room of our home which serves as our den and office. I am with them about 80-90% of the day so this means that they are under constant supervision. They get the appropriate vaccinations and worming at each stage of their lives.
I cannot stand for my puppies to be dirty, so their nursery is kept immaculately clean. I use high quality puppy pads in the nursery and they are changed out at least daily. I don’t like for my puppies to walk in their own waste, so it is picked up and removed immediately. Not only does it keep the puppies clean, but it keeps my house from smelling like a kennel and it also helps tremendously with paper training and house breaking.
They get lots of time on our laps with myself , my husband and my son. This way they are used to both men and women. I don’t have young children and I’m not inclined to place my puppies with families who have children that are 5 and under. Small children tend to “love” on the puppies too hard and can easily hurt them. They certainly don’t mean to hurt the puppy, but they are so excited that they forget how much bigger and stronger they are than the puppy. Rough handling can have a negative emotional affect on a puppy. I have a dog that came from a family with a small child and he was terrified when he was a puppy. It took him a long time to recover and he is still not as confident as my other dogs. I recommend families with small children get a young dog, or even an older dog that is able to cope with the enthusiasm of a small child.
My puppies are never shy or afraid of people. They are used to all sorts of noises around the house and they trust us to protect them. All of my puppies have been very friendly and loving to the new people they’ve met. Sometimes they are a little quiet and reserved when they are in a strange place and are being delivered to their new homes. It’s understandable when they are in that situation. It doesn’t take long before they are irreversibly a part of their new family, and happily showering love and kisses on their new parents.
They are totally irresistible and I don’t get a lot done elsewhere because I spend more time than I should, playing with them. I fall head over heels for them while they are here and it’s really difficult to say goodbye to them when they go to their new homes. The only thing that makes me feel better about it is knowing that they are going to excellent homes with people who will love them as much as I have. All of my previous puppies have gone to the best homes in the world. I keep in touch with the new parents and they send me pictures and stories of their puppy’s adventures. I love hearing about them and seeing how they’ve grown.
If you are interested in my puppies, you’re welcome to email me and we can chat about adding a little blessing to your family.
