Arabians come in the solid colors of bay, black, chestnut and grey. Although some have a sabino gene that produces splashes of white which makes them look like a pinto mixed breed these horse are still purebred Arabians. Purebred Arabians do not carry a roan gene or a palomino gene. They do come in chestnut with a flaxen mane & tail. Grey horses are born black, chestnut or bay. They gradually turn grey as they age and go through many gorgeous stages before they’re done. Arabians have face & leg markings consistent with any other solid colored horse. If one has the sabino gene, it may have more white on the face & legs than normal as well as body spots.
